LAUGH!

FIRST DOSE
There are always two ways
to look at everything, I
guess. My wife and I were
sitting at a table at my
high school reunion last
October, and I kept staring
at a drunken lady swigging
her drink as she
sat alone at a nearby
table. My wife noticed me
staring and asked me, "Do
you know her?".

"Yes",
I sighed, "She's my old
girlfriend. I understand she
took to drinking right after
we split up those
many years ago, and I
hear she hasn't been sober
since." "My God!" says my
wife, "Who would
think a person could go on
celebrating that long?"

SECOND DOSE
Last night, my friend and I
were sitting in the living
room and
I said to her, "I never want
to live in a vegetative
state, dependent on
some machine and fluids
from a bottle. If that ever
happens, just pull the
plug."

She got up, unplugged the
TV, and threw out my wine

Stomach Cancer-Causes and Prevention

By Tom Szharek, January 1, 2008, Updated January 3, 2010

For years, researchers have puzzled over a mystery about
cancer.  Why do the Japanese and Chinese have such low
cancer rates?

Japanese and Chinese women, for example, have breast
cancer rates that are five times lower than those of American
women.  The Japanese have almost no incidence of stomach
or colon cancer.

Now, the long-suspected link between the Asian diet and the
low prevalence of cancer is emerging as the key factor. The
Japanese consume about five times the amount of
cruciferous vegetables as Americans do.

Cruciferous vegetables ---all the various cabbages and root
vegetables such as green and red  cabbage, broccoli,
Brussels sprouts, Chinese cabbage, cauliflower, kale and
watercress, radishes, parsnips, turnips, rutabaga and
kohlrabi ---are  unique protectors of your health.

These special vegetables contain natural substances called
glucosinolates.   Inside your body, glucosinolates break
down to form compounds called "indoles" and other
compounds which are especially effective in fighting the
development and spread of cancer.

The indoles from cabbages and root vegetables fight cancer
essentially by creating speed bumps.  These vegetables slow
down the enzymes that activate carcinogenic substances.
They also act as green lights for the helpful enzymes,
speeding up their delivery to areas in your body that need to
detoxify carcinogens.

So, to give yourself a needed boost of cancer protection,
follow a
diet plan which emphasizes these special vegetable
cancer fighting foods.

New research has identified several common foods as
powerful allies against cancer.
Vanilla, in particular, has been
found to discourage the spread (metastasis) of breast and
colon cancer
.  Also,  coffee inhibits cancer growth, according
to studies of breast cancer patients.
